BIOGRAPHY
Born in Taurasi on February 3, 1933, Alessandro Casale lived and worked in Lucca until his death in 2010. After completing his classical studies, he graduated in Law and practiced as a criminal defense lawyer. Around 1968, he began painting as a self-taught artist—a pursuit that happily emerged after a long period of research, immediately garnering highly favorable praise from both critics and the public. In addition to numerous solo exhibitions held in various Italian cities, he participated in national and international group shows and exhibitions, including the First International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Waterbury (USA). His works are included in collections both in Italy and abroad. The national press has always taken an interest in him, with notable coverage by “Settimana Arte Il Miliardo”, “Eco d’arte”, “La Zattera”, “La Nazione”, “Il Telegrafo”, “Avvenire”, and “Bolaffi Arte.”
Throughout his more than forty years of passionate artistic production, his work has attracted the interest of numerous journalists, art historians, and critics, including Elena Bellucci, Alvaro Bongi, Ernesto Borelli, Gastone Breddo, Walter Campani, Dino Carlesi, Carmine Clericuzio, Raffaele De Grada, Isabella Lapi, Guglielmo Lera, Luciano Marcucci, Mario Marzocchi, Nicola Micieli, Maria Rita Montagnani, Marco Palamidessi, Dino Pasquali, Francesco Poli, Antonio Possenti, Francesco Saporito, Paolo Sfogli, and Vittorio Sgarbi.
